Shadow Glen Riding Stables
I had the pleasure of shooting Allison’s senior portraits a couple weekends ago at Lake Natoma with horses, Julie and Nash. Allison is graduating this spring from UC Davis with a degree in Communications. Her session took place at Shadow Glen Riding Stables where she currently teaches horseback riding, guides trail rides, and trains the new horses. She has been riding since she was eight, but over the last four years has become more involved in her passion, so it was only fitting for her to take her senior portraits with her beloved horses. HOW TO GET THERE: There are two ways to get to Lake Clementine. One option is to park right next to the dam (parking is limited, $10). We took the other option. We parked alongside the road on El Dorado St. The main parking is on Old Foresthill Road which is on one side of the bridge in Auburn, here you have to pay $10. But if you drive across the bridge (turn right onto CA-193) you are in El Dorado County, and you don’t have to pay. It is an additional five minute walk to the trail head. The trail head just past the ranger booth, over the bridge at a gate.
Photoshoot with Sacramento based model, Sierra Oliveira at Rick’s Dessert Diner in Downtown Sacramento. Rick’s is everything 50’s theme you could dream of! From the juke box, checkered tile floors, and mural sized paintings of Marilyn Monroe and James Dean, to the shiny read booths and rotating cake cases. Not to mention the endless dessert. We had a coke in a glass bottle (for some reason always a little better), an orange cream milkshake, and tiramisu. All delicious!
A few weeks ago I collaborated with GQ Insiders thejobrien (or TheGentelmensCove on Youtube) and bycarlosroberto (CarlosRoberto on Youtube) on a shoot in downtown San Francisco. Both Carlos and Jordan were super nice guys, easy on the eyes, and great in front of the camera (ha see that rhyme?). Check them out if you have a chance!
We also shot some watches for Leonard and Church on Carlos. Watches featured were Varick in Brown and Prospect Pocketwatch in Black. I highly recommend these handmade watches that come in an array of wearable colorways. Again for more details on what they’re wearing, check out their pages!
