Point Lobos State Natural Reserve

A couple weekends ago, Jordan and I met up with Michelle and Shane in Big Sur. Michelle and Shane are a super sweet couple from Canada, visiting the California Coast. Because most of Big Sur is closed do to the Pfeiffer Canyon Bridge collapse, we found ourself in the northern parts of Big Sur that are still accessible. We spent the late afternoon wandering Point Lobos, taking photos on the cliffs and watching otters below, crack clams open on their bellies.

~1–2 mi, ~1 hr, Easy, West Ridge Trail, Historic Trail

I know, it’s been a while, but my external hard drive with all of my curated content crashed last week and I wasn’t able to recover any of it. Lake Clementine

~2-3 hr roundtrip, 4.3 mi roundtrip, Easy-Intermediate

HOW TO GET THERE: There are two ways to get to Lake Clementine. One option is to park right next to the dam (parking is limited, $10). We took the other option. We parked alongside the road on El Dorado St. The main parking is on Old Foresthill Road which is on one side of the bridge in Auburn, here you have to pay $10. But if you drive across the bridge (turn right onto CA-193) you are in El Dorado County, and you don’t have to pay. It is an additional five minute walk to the trail head. The trail head just past the ranger booth, over the bridge at a gate.

Photoshoot with Sacramento based model, Sierra Oliveira at Rick’s Dessert Diner in Downtown Sacramento. Rick’s is everything 50’s theme you could dream of! From the juke box, checkered tile floors, and mural sized paintings of Marilyn Monroe and James Dean, to the shiny read booths and rotating cake cases. Not to mention the endless dessert. We had a coke in a glass bottle (for some reason always a little better), an orange cream milkshake, and tiramisu. All delicious!
